Myron N. Lane
Founder
Myron N. Lane is the founding member of Lane, Lane & Kelly. Myron spent 24 years in the Norfolk District Attorney's office in Dedham, the first 11 of which were spent as Assistant DA. He was appointed to the DA's office in 1942 after serving a term in the Legislature. He was formally appointed as the Norfolk County District Attorney by Governor Christian Herter in 1954. Later that year, Myron was elected to his first full Legislative Term as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where he was re-elected in 1958 and 1962.
Myron Lane always had strong ties to the Braintree and Quincy area. Myron was born in Roxbury, but spent the majority of his life and raised his family in Quincy's Wallaston section. He attended Wollaston Grammar School and later graduated from Thayer Academy in 1925 and from Boston University School of Law in 1930.
Myron opened his own law practice in Wollaston in 1933, which soon thereafter was moved to Braintree in 1938 where the office of Lane, Lane & Kelly would officially be founded and set its roots.
In 1942, Myron was called to duty and joined the Army. He attended the Army Judge Advocate School and went to Europe to work with the War Crimes Branch. In 1946, as a Captain in the Army, he took part in the prosecution and defense of accused German war criminals at the Mauthausen and Dachau concentration camps. After the war, he returned to the DA's office and his private practice.
Myron N. Lane passed away at the age of 64 on April 14, 1972.
